The SmallBizDev Hackathon will be held later this month in New York, challenging developers, designers and entrepreneurs to design a winning mobile financial solution for small businesses in the U.S.
The event, which will begin at 9 a.m. on Sept. 13 at the Capital One 360 Café and run through Sept. 14, is open to U.S. citizens or permanent residents age 18 or older. Participants can compete individually or as part of a team.
Competitors will have access to on-site experts, technical resources, user feedback and other resources sponsored by Capital One.
Winners will be named on Aug. 13 at the end of the hackathon, which is administrated by the D2D Fund and the Center for Financial Services Innovation.
The grand prize winner will take home a $10,000 prize and will have the opportunity to demo their app before a panel of technology and financial services experts during an event in October. Two runners-up will also receive prizes of $5,000 each.
Additionally, all participants will receive six months of free access to General Assembly’s Front Row, with access to upcoming live streams, on-demand streaming classes and a video library.
