Several financial services technology providers were presented with “Best of Show” awards at the FinovateSpring 2014 session in San Jose held earlier this week.
Sixty-eight companies demonstrated their latest innovations at the event, and seven companies with the highest number of votes were named the winners of the category.
EyeVerify was named for its eyeprint verification technology, which can be used on smartphones and tablets with cameras without the need for additional hardware.
Loop was named for its mobile wallet system that stores debit, credit, loyalty, reward and gift card information on a smartphone. According to Loop, the app can be used at more than 90 percent of all retailers that accept magnetic stripe cards.
Motif, an advisor platform that streamlines the monitoring process and accessibility of investment portfolios, was also named along with Ondot Systems, which was recognized for its CardControl technology that allows users to remotely control credit and debit cards from their phone.
PrivatBank was recognized for its contactless smartphone-enabled Android ATM technology, and SaveUp was named a winner for its personal finance game platform aimed at Gen Y and Millenial consumers.
Stockpile was recognized for its investment solution that allows consumers to “give the gift of stock” in major brands.
The next session of Finovate will be held in New York City from Sept.23-24 at the Hilton Midwotwn. More than 70 companies are expected to participate.
