Core Innovation Capital recently announced its 2014 Core Innovators Challenge for startups serving the emerging middle class.
The 2014 challenge is based in Core’s hometown of Los Angeles and will be the concluding event at “Emerge: The Forum on Consumer Financial Services Innovation.”
Core is seeking ideas or businesses that positively impact financially underserved customers that are attempting to build a successful, scalable business that improves the financial health and well-being of their customers.
The winner of the 2014 Core Innovators Challenge will earn $10,000 in prize money and join such previous winners as Junto Finanzas, a transformative mobile personal finance tool for cash-based households, and PayPerks, a financial capability and rewards platform that provides low and middle-income consumers with more financial transparency, choice and access.
Nominations for the challenge will be accepted through April 14, with four finalists selected to present live at the Emerge Forum on June 6.
