Prepaid Financial Services announced on Tuesday that cardholders and partners in the U.K. and Europe will have the ability to load their prepaid card directly from the online portal using Ukash, a global e-money service.
Ukash allows shoppers to spend cash securely, eliminating the need to input personal financial information. Codes can be purchased with cash from stores, shops, post offices, kiosks and gas stations anywhere a PayPoint, Payzone or ePay logo is displayed.
“We already provide a comprehensive range of loading options which allow customers to add funds to their prepaid card account using credit/debit cards online or via SMS, bank and wage transfers, as well as cash loading at Payzone and the Post Office,” Prepaid CEO Noel Moran said. “We are delighted to provide cardholders with the added convenience of being able to load their cards using Ukash. This also allows us to enhance our loading network across Europe.”
Launched in 2005, Ukash now has more than 460,000 points of purchase in more than 50 countries worldwide. The company has expanded its presence in fashion, fragrance, entertainment and gadgets.
“We know that prepaid card users are often those who don’t have access to traditional forms of banking or credit and, therefore want the flexibility of being able to add funds to their card with cash,” Ukash CEO David Hunter said. “The primary goal of Ukash is to give consumers greater convenience in their financial transactions online, without needing to provide personal and banking details. We believe, therefore, that there is a very good fit between Ukash and Prepaid Financial Services, giving prepaid card holders even more flexibility in how they add funds.”
