Mercury Payment Systems announced last week the addition of Pamela Galligan as the company’s chief compliance officer and head of industry relations, where she will lead Mercury’s compliance efforts and manage its relationships with partners in the payments industry.
“Pam’s extensive payment industry experience and compliance expertise make her a great asset to our company and should lend peace of mind to our partners,” Brett Narlinger, the senior vice president of sales at Mercury, said. “She brings a valuable service to our partner and merchant network, and we are lucky to have her on board to share that expertise with them.”
Before joining Mercury, Galligan spent 12 years at Visa, ultimately leading the company’s global strategy and planning division. She also spearheaded electronic payments initiatives at Barclaycard U.S. and Bank of America.
Most recently, Galligan was a consultant at Fotec Group, where she helped to develop strategies and acquisition targets for a new merchant services firm. She is also the former CEO of Pacific Payment Technologies, where she was responsible for compliance oversight.
“The payments industry is an exciting and dynamic sector,” Galligan said. “Technology changes quickly, and so do compliance regulations and guidelines. Compliance is a full-time job, and I look forward to lending my expertise to Mercury.”
