MasterCard recently announced the appointment of Ram Chari, a senior business leader with the company, to head the recently acquired ElectraCard Services Private, Ltd., in Pune, India.
Chari most recently served as a leader in MasterCard’s alliances processing division in the Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa department. With more than 20 years of experience in financial services, Chari will be responsible for the integration and execution of ECS’ business strategy and to facilitate the development of new innovations, according to a MasterCard press release.
“We are pleased to have Ram lead ECS, as his wide and varied expertise, gained over many years of dedicated service to the payments industry, will help drive processing innovations at ECS,” MasterCard APMEA President Vicky Bindra said. “We believe this will complement MasterCard’s commitment to providing top-notch payments solutions to our merchants, customers and various stakeholders.”
Previously, Chari served as the CEO of Network International based in Dubai. During his leadership, the firm expanded across 16 countries in the Middle East and Africa, and towards the end of his executive position he focused on developing sustainable payments solutions in emerging markets.
