Cloud-based payments solution provider FreedomPay announced on Monday the addition of Marc Pereira as the company’s vice president of technology.
Pereira brings nearly 20 years of e-commerce and technology experience to the company. Prior to joining FreedomPay, Pereira served nearly 12 years in executive roles at eBay, most recently as the senior manager of development and technology tools for the company.
“Marc joins our senior management team in a crucial role,” FreedomPay CEO Tom Durovsik said. “Our industry is evolving rapidly, and Marc represents the level of elite talent that keeps us in a leadership position. Our technology is our lifeblood, and Marc’s background ensures our commitment to making payments smarter.”
As the company’s new VP of technology, Pereira will be responsible for oversight, innovation and maintaining the firm’s technology infrastructure. He will also be responsible for ensuring FreedomPay’s platform is based on best practices in code optimization, scalability and security.
“I’m excited to join FreedomPay as it continues its rapid growth into Europe and Latin America,” Pereira said. “My unique skill set will be an important asset to the company in managing its expanding development pipeline, and I plan to act as the liaison between our business development and sales functions to make sure our message comes across at all levels for this aggressive and innovative company.”
FreedomPay’s platform features mobile payment technologies that can be integrated with live POS systems, as well as security tools aimed at boosting sales and improving customer retention. The company was founded in 2000 and is currently headquartered in Pennsylvania.
