Discover Financial Services announced last week that Walter H. Morris, Jr. will join the company’s board of directors, bringing with him more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry.
Before joining Discover, Morris served as the senior managing director of Brock Capital, an investment banking and advisory firm, starting in 2010, when he retired from Ernst & Young where he was a principal.
“Walter’s strong financial background, including his extensive experience in banking, will play a key role as we solidify Discover as a leading direct bank and payments partner,” David Nelms, the chairman and CEO of Discover, said.
Morris has held a number of executive leadership positions in various industries, including international banking, capital markets, mortgage banking and real estate finance. He was appointed in 2010 to the board of the Federal Home Loan Banks’ Office of Finance, and is an audit committee member.
