CMG Financial head Chris George receives Hall of Honor award

The Mortgage Bankers Association and Wingspan Gives Back recently presented CMG Financial head Chris George with the Hall of Honor Award, which recognizes companies and leaders who have dedicated support to the military community.

“I am honored and humbled to present this award to Chris George,” E.J. Burke, the chairman, executive vice president and group head of KeyBank Real Estate Capital, said. “Through his work with The CMG Foundation, Chris has set a high standard of excellence in giving back to the military community. His achievements are matched only by his passion, and we are grateful to have him represent our industry in such a selfless manner.”

George was presented with the award for his work through the CMG foundation, which aims to support non-profit groups at the national and community level. The foundation has provided more than $400,000 in funding to certain causes, including providing severely wounded veterans and their families with amenities necessary to live comfortably.

The award was presented as part of the launch of the program during MBA’s Mid-Winter Housing Finance Conference prior to a free community screening of the documentary, “The Hornet’s Nest,” which follows two journalists embedded with U.S. troops in Afghanistan.

Hall of Honor Founders, including Alliance Credit Counseling, American Property Guard, Hope LoanPort, IndiSoft, LOGS Network and VSI, were also recognized.
