The Armed Forces Financial Network announced on Tuesday the appointment of John M. Broda as president and CEO, replacing retiring CEO David Weber, who has served at AFFN for over 30 years.
Broda joined the AFFN—an EFT network established in 1985 at the request of the U.S. Army in support of the Surepay direct deposit system—in 2000. He has served as the chief operating officer and executive vice president for the past nine years.
“Mr. Broda’s superior leadership skills, his deep experience in electronic payments, and his dedication to supporting our nation’s military service members through AMBA bank and DCUC credit union participants make him the ideal person for this important role,” AFFN Chairman John M. Mitchell said. “John is a consummate professional and is deeply committed to providing the very best in financial services and products to our AFFN participant financial institutions, as well as the military and civilian consumers served by AMBA banks and DCUC credit unions.”
