Payment technology launches Scan-to-Pay bill-pay app

QR recently launched its new Scan-to-Pay app for Android and iOS that allows smartphone users to scan and pay using a QR code on a bill.

Businesses can generate a unique QR code to be printed on bills and invoices. When the customer receives the invoice, they can scan the code and confirm the amount to be paid. Both the payer and payee receive an instant confirmation of the payment.

“We all want to spend less time and effort paying bills whether that’s helping us avoid logging into several systems and re-entering our card details repeatedly or just saving us from having to dash out of the house to get cash to pay to plumber,” Bradley Duke, the European managing director for Zapper, said. “Zapper was designed to make that possible by leveraging the power of the smartphone in our pocket.”

Data from Gartner showed a 44 percent increase worldwide in mobile payments since last year—a figure Zapper plans to capitalize on.
