Wirecard AG recently launched its couponing and loyalty solution touted at the Mobile Money Global summit earlier this month, allowing customers to link coupons and loyalty programs on mobile devices to card transactions.
Customers pay using their mobile devices, redeem a voucher and immediately receive their bonus points. The couponing and loyalty system is a supplementary service to the issuing programs and smartphone apps for mobile payment.
“Our new couponing and loyalty system is a true reflection of the strengths of Wirecard as a leading company in the field of payment processing, especially in the mobile segment,” Jörn Leogrande, the executive vice president of mobile services at Wirecard, said. “We are augmenting transactions with information on the range of couponing and loyalty services available and are therefore generating appealing added value for consumers and retailers as well as issuing partners. At the same time, Wirecard is entering an extremely fascinating aftermarket in mobile services with its couponing and loyalty solution.”
The solution will allow issuing partners and retailers to see the results of targeted and tailored marketing campaigns in connection with loyalty and coupon programs through mobile payment apps. The process is fully automated and runs parallel with the payment process, and no special checkout integration or personnel training is required.
