Mercury Payment Systems announced on Tuesday the appointment of Andrew Patterson to the position of CTO, where he will be responsible for software engineering, technology infrastructure, quality assurance and business intelligence.
“Andrew’s passion and desire to drive innovation in the payments marketplace is remarkable; as an accomplished executive and proven technology leader, his fit with Mercury is pitch-perfect,” Mercury CEO Matt Taylor said. “I’m thrilled to have Andrew join the team to help drive the future of payments for our partners and our merchants.”
Patterson comes to Mercury from Canadian payments acquirer Moneris Solutions, where he served as vice president of payments software and emerging products. While at Moneris, Patterson led a number of technology initiatives, before which he served as the director of software development.
Patterson earned his bachelor’s degree from Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia, Canada, and his master’s degree from Queen’s University in Ontario.
