Global online payments provider 2Checkout announced on Tuesday its integration with Shopify, providing the commerce platform’s customers with access to payments in approximately 200 countries.
“2Checkout delivers a local buying experience that scales globally for merchants and customers alike,” Shopify Director of Payments Louis Kearns said. “Shopify’s 100,000+ merchants from around the world can now enable 2Checkout’s secure, responsive, localized payments page to maximize checkout conversions in hundreds of markets.”
In countries where the Shopify Payments option is not available, 2Checkout’s payments service will be featured for customers, and the Shopify platform—which allows sellers to offer products and services online, in-store or remotely—will be available to existing 2Checkout customers.
“Shopify is the number one cart request we get here at 2Checkout, so this partnership is a win for both parties,” Kevin Gallagher, the senior vice president of business development at 2Checkout, which supports transactions through eight payment methods, 26 currencies and 15 languages, said. “With 2Checkout providing the payments, it is literally just one integration to reach the world.”
Shopify, which was founded in 2006, powers several major retailers, including Tesla Motors, Gatorade, Amnesty International, Google, CrossFit and others.
