Industry participants, including payments technology providers and processors will gather in May to discuss the U.S. migration to EMV at the CARTES America 2014 conference.
The conference will be held from May 13-15 in Las Vegas and will feature 150 exhibitors, 50 education programs and six keynote sessions related to the 2015 mandate for widespread adoption of chip and PIN solutions.
Topics at the conference will include issues in transition to EMV, educating retailers and consumers about the benefits of EMV technology, deployment models used in Canada and Europe, personalization of EMV cards and comparisons of EMV ecosystems in the U.S., Mexico and Canada.
“EMV has been an important privacy and secure payment topic for several years, but in the next 12 to 18 months the U.S. will make a dramatic shift from discussion to deployment as merchants and consumers interact in new and more secure ways,” CARTES America Exhibition Director Isabelle Alfano said. “CARTES America is where the industry can find the strategies and tools to make that transition.
