Payment provider Ogone announced late last month the launch of a partnership with MasterCard to deploy MasterPass in Belgium, the Netherlands, France, the U.K., Germany and Spain.
“This partnership with Ogone will further strengthen MasterPass momentum and accelerate the adoption commitment of MasterPass in Belgium and in Europe,” MasterCard Benelux General Manager David Deschamps said.
MasterPass allows users to make online purchases from connected devices, including PCs, touchpads and smartphones, without having to enter detailed shipping and card information, which is already stored in the digital wallet.
The solution is initially being deployed only for e-commerce, though merchants will be able to offer the service to customers in the second stage of deployment.
MasterPass is currently available on Ogone’s online payment platform.
“On top of our portfolio of over 80 international payment methods, we are pleased to include and provide MasterPass to our clients,” Ogone Chief Sales Officer Ludovic Houri said. “As online cross border sales opportunities grow, simplicity and making a wide range of payment methods available are key to helping ecommerce clients improve their check out conversion rates.”
Ogone, an Ingenico company, has more than 42,000 business clients in over 70 countries. Its solution allows customers to enhance sales and increase checkout conversion.
