220px-MasterCard_Logo.svgMasterCard, along with C-SAM, a mobile transactions technology provider, and DNP, which develops mobile-wallet service businesses, announced late last month the imminent launch of a white-label NFC mobile wallet service in Japan.

The NFC service integrates C-SAM’s mobile transaction platform, MasterCard PayPass contactless payment solution and DNP’s mobile wallet, allowing merchants and retailers to simplify the shopping experience by offering customers the ability to make convenient, contactless payments via their smartphone devices.

Users can add numerous services, including loyalty cards and mobile coupons, and merchants and retailers can offer special discounts and deals to meet each customer’s personal preferences based on purchase history.

Last August, a joint mobile wallet service that integrates C-SAM’s MTP and MasterCard contactless payment technology was launched in Singapore.

DNP will provide technical support, as well as operational support of the IT infrastructure, custom mobile wallet development services and provisioning of the SP-TSM service for PayPass for the Japanese deployment.

The companies seek to increase the popularity of mobile wallets by extending the convenience, improved security and value-added applications of their services to merchants and consumers throughout Japan.
