California-based iPayment, which provides credit and debit payment processing services to more than 150,000 merchants in the U.S., and VeriFone announced on Monday a new tablet, app-based point-of-sale solution for merchants.
“VeriFone is impressed with the innovative technology and tools iPayment provides to small and medium sized merchants; they have been instrumental in customizing this solution to address the needs of the marketplace,” Shan Ethridge, the vice president and general manager of VeriFone’s North America financial services group, said.
The solution is a turnkey iOS app-based solution that combines VeriFone’s GlobalBay Merchant technology and iPayment’s proprietary solutions. Merchant users will receive the iPayment POS software, an iPad, cash drawer, bar code scanner, stand and printer, along with either VeriFone’s PAYware Mobile e100 audio reader or VX 805 PIN pad.
