Ingenico and PAVO—its cash register business partner—recently announced a collaborative effort aimed at developing the iWE280, a new generation of mobile point-of-sale device with EFT capabilities, in Turkey.
The device, which has passed all technical evaluations by Turkish authorities, is being developed in response to a recent order on market reorganization by the Turkish government.
“We are very delighted with this new POS solution demonstrating Ingenico’s capacity to develop and deliver an innovative solution in a very tight schedule,” Jacques Behr, the executive vice president for Ingenico’s Europe, Middle East and Africa division, said. “This partnership with PAVO also reinforces our presence in the Turkish market, one of the fastest growing. This is also the opportunity for Ingenico to continue to deploy our strategic initiative towards transactions and services.”
The iWE280 is designed to process a variety of payment types, including contactless cards, bank and public transport cards, magnetic stripe cards and smartcards.
“We are very proud with the iWE280 device resulting from our extensive experience in innovative wireless device and demonstrating Ingenico’s continued leadership and strong investment in the Turkish market,” Ingenico Turkey General Manager Alpay Sidal said. “Beyond legal requirement, we will provide customers and prospects with the most compact and advanced terminal along with the most comprehensive business solution for client[s].”
