Ingenico announced last week plans to combine its European business and transactions business under the management of Pierre-Antoine Vacheron, the executive vice president and managing director of Ingenico Europe.
The move, which aims to enhance the company’s payment services business in Europe, is part of Igenico’s strategy related to its acquisition of online payment services provider Ogone—the company seeks to deploy multi-channel global payment solutions for merchants and acquirers first in Europe and then in high-potential markets.
Over the past year, Ingenico has accelerated the implementation of its transaction services strategy with a focus on combining offline and online processing. Igenico said Ogone has grown significantly within the transactions business unit.
Recent business developments such as strong transaction volume during the holiday season, according to the company, “make the Group confident in its capacity to support merchants in the management of their payment infrastructure, across all distribution channels—in-store, online and mobile—and across different geographies.”
