Health and wellness retailer GNC announced last week that it will deploy VeriFone’s NFC-enabled multimedia payment device at more than 3,000 U.S. retail locations, allowing for future EMV payments and point-of-sale marketing.
“As we looked at the future of our business, and how we wanted to leverage our payment infrastructure, it became clear the new payment device provided the functionality we were looking for,” GNC IT Director Bruce Jones said. “Selecting VeriFone provides us a partner with the payment system expertise we were looking for.”
The MX 915, which is both PCI- and EMV-approved, features a full-motion 4.3-inch color video display and slim design, as well as a high-speed processor and substantial memory. Its screen allows for optional signature capture and account activity scrolling.
