Boost Mobile announced on Thursday a new service called Quick Check now available through Boost Mobile Wallet that allows users to turn checks into cash instantly.
The service, which costs $4 per transaction for any check type up to $2,000, accepts nearly all kinds of checks, including government, personal and payroll checks.
Customers take a photo of the front and back of the check and submit it for approval. Approvals are usually given without seconds. After the approval, the customer has instant access to the guaranteed check funds loaded into their account in the Mobile Wallet app, on a Visa prepaid card or withdrawn from an ATM.
“Quick Check is just one more way our customers can save money as its low flat-fee pricing offers an inexpensive alternative to retail check cashing,” Andre Smith, the vice president of Boost Mobile, said. “Offering a diverse selection of mobile financial service options gives all customers the ability to do more with their money, on their terms and from more places – all with just a few swipes of their mobile device’s screen.”
The Boost Mobile Wallet app offers international money transfers, bill payment and domestic and international prepaid mobile. The app is available for free at the Google Play Store from a Boost Mobile Android-powered phone.
The service, which will be powered by Wipit, is currently available to selected authorized indirect retailers, though a national rollout of the service is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
