AmEx cardholders eligible to earn credits from Isis for NYC taxi rides

new york city taxiIsis—the mobile commerce joint venture established by AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon—announced last week a new promotion for American Express cardholders who store their card information in the Isis Mobile Wallet.

Until June 1, AmEx cardholders who tap to pay using a card registered in the mobile wallet for a ride in a qualifying New York City Yellow Medallion Taxi can earn 50 percent back in statement credits, up to $100 per eligible card.

The promotion is available for AmEx U.S. Consumer, OPEN Small Business and Serve cardholders who have registered their card information in the wallet. Registration for the promotion is limited.

“The Yellow Medallion Taxicab is an enduring part of the New York Cityscape, and in celebration of this iconic symbol, we are giving New Yorkers 50 percent back on taxi rides when they tap to pay with their registered American Express Cards in the Isis Mobile Wallet,” Ryan Hughes, the senior vice president of banking and business development at Isis, said. “We are excited to offer this promotion for American Express Card Members and look forward to our work with American Express as we transform the way consumers pay.”

The Isis Mobile Wallet is enabled on more than 50 Isis Ready phones available through Verizon Wireless, AT&T and T-Mobile. Users can download the Isis Mobile Wallet for free via Google Play.
