Allied Wallet announced on Thursday that it reached its milestone of 88 million users worldwide with its credit card processing solutions, as well as its digital eWallet solutions.
While e-commerce has grown significantly all over the world, data showed that Allied’s most recent growth spurt can be attributed to its presence in Asia. Over 40 percent of China’s 1.3 billion citizens identify as “internet users.”
Allied is a processor of China Unionpay, which has over 2.3 billion cardholders, and accepts 164 different currencies and payment methods.
“I came with the hope of creating something unique and very accommodating for people that they could use and enjoy…” Allied CEO Andy Khawaja said. “My whole philosophy behind my work was to build something beautiful for people to be able to connect in transactions, to be able to buy products from all around the world.”
Allied provides a payment gateway to process online transactions for online merchants, enabling them to send and receive payments from all over the world.
