The NFC World Congress will be held later this month in France, bringing together payments companies, entrepreneurs from across the globe and innovative developers for a three-day conference that explores emerging mobile payments technologies.
Panels on mobile payment security and deployment of NFC technology worldwide will be held on Sept. 22, the first day of the conference.
On Sept. 23, panels on host card emulation (HCE) will be held with marketing executives, along with discussions on security strategies like tokenization and retail strategies to build loyalty.
The third day of the conference—Sept. 24, or Connected Life Day—will include an NFC Forum workshop, discussion about the use of NFC technology in public transport and infrastructure, and the Internet of Things.
Speakers will include representatives of companies like AT&T, Clear Channel, MasterCard, PayPal, Telefonica, NXP and Gemalto. Government representatives—including Pierre Carbonne, the program manager of mobile services at the French Ministry of Economy, Finances and Industry, and Rob van Kranenburg, a research coordinator at the European Commission’s Internet of Things cluster—will also participate in the conference.
Sponsors of the NFC World Congress include MasterCard, Orange, Visa, Austrian Institute of Technology, Clear2Pay, Infineon, Legic, Oberthur Technologies, Life Augmented and Store Electronic Systems.
