Virtual Piggy, the provider of the Oink family wallet, was recently named most innovative company in North America and received a Gold Stevie Award at the 11th annual International Business Awards (IBA).
The awards ceremony recognizes both individuals and organizations—public and private, for-profit and non-profit and large and small—as nominees. This year, the IBAs received entries from more than 60 countries and territories worldwide.
“We’re thrilled to be named a Gold Stevie Award winner for the Most Innovative Company of the Year,” Jo Webber, the CEO and founder of Oink, said. “Our goal is to bring a safe and fun to use payment solution to today’s unbanked generation.”
Virtual Piggy’s Oink platform allows retailers and game publishers to reach under-21 consumers in a legal manner compliant with FTC and international regulations. The wallet technology is available online or via mobile and allows parents to control spending and monitor transactions.
Oink recently finalized partnerships with video game companies Smilegate West, gamigo AG and Fantage to allow users to make in-game purchases with the technology.
