The Visa-branded card allows members to deposit and spend only what they require, thereby protecting them from costly overdraft fees and interest charges.
“The MyExpress Debit card is a great low-cost way to pay children’s allowance and teach them how to handle their money,” Dennis Bromley, the senior vice president of member development and engagement for Mountain America, said. “Or members can use it as a travel card or for online purchases, minimizing risk if the card or number is lost or stolen. MyExpress was designed to be extremely versatile, giving our members another tool to help them and their families wisely and safely manage their money.”
The card comes with no activation fees, and cardholders can add funds anytime through a Mountain America branch or its mobile banking app. Multiple cards can be linked to a single account and are usable at nearly 30,000 fee-free ATMs across the U.S.
Utah-based Mountain America Credit Union has more than $3 billion in assets and serves more than 400,000 members. Mountain America has branches in five states, as well as 5,000 shared-branching locations across the U.S.
