U.S. Bank to test Go Mobile payment service with Utah, Oregon customers

comp_1_logo-usbank-siteheaderU.S. Bank FlexPerks Visa customers in Utah and Oregon will be the first to try the bank’s Go Mobile payment service that allows customers to make a secure payment for everyday purchases using their iPhones.

The service will be beta-tested by FlexPerks Travel Rewards Visa Signature cardholders in Salt Lake City and Portland before it is more widely introduced later in the year. The bank is partnering with Datacard Group, DeviceFidelity and Visa to implement the technology.

Customers who qualify for and opt-in to the service will receive a customized U.S. Bank Go Mobile case for their iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S with their new card. The case is equipped with Near Field Communication, a payment technology that allows customers to make a safe, secure purchase with a wave of their phone.

“We have incorporated all of the feedback we have received from prior pilots and our customer research into this latest offering and we are excited to offer U.S. Bank Go Mobile in these two markets,” Dominic Venturo, the chief innovation officer for U.S. Bank payment services, said.

Payments can be submitted quickly, conveniently and securely, and the card is secured by passcode protection, bank-grade encryption, strong privacy protection, real-time fraud monitoring and zero fraud liability.
