U.S. Bank accepts Red Cross donations through ATMs

U.S. BankU.S. Bank recently enabled more than 2,000 ATMs in 25 states to accept donations intended to support victims of the recent tornadoes in the Midwest, wildfires and other crises across the country.

U.S. Bank customers have until the end of Monday to make donations that go directly to Red Cross. The bank is also matching donations made by its employees to Red Cross through its matching gift fund.

Elan Financial Services and U.S. Bank’s credit card division recently waived several fees and interest charges on the balances owed by its customers who had been impacted by the Oklahoma tornados in addition to suspending the minimum payments for its customers who had been impacted by the disaster.

Red Cross and U.S. Bank announced a partnership in 2012 that includes an annual commitment of $250,000 from the bank to assist the organization with preparations for vital disaster services. In addition, the partners recently established the U.S. Bank Employee Awareness and Preparedness Fairs for the company’s 65,000 employees.

U.S. Bank also provides opportunities for its employees to donate blood and volunteer time to the organization.

Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides emotional aid to victims of disasters that occur within the United States and in other countries.
