NCUA releases tool to help CU members keep track of share insurance coverage

resized_NCUA_SEALThe National Credit Union Administration released a tool on Tuesday designed to help credit union members more easily access information on share insurance and to help keep track of their coverage.

The Share Insurance Estimator—formerly the E-Calculator—has been redesigned to be more easily navigable and to provide expanded content. Users can enter information while using reference materials. The redesign also provides credit union members with additional information on using the tool.

“Our new Share Insurance Estimator makes it easy for consumers to calculate share insurance coverage and receive immediate answers to questions about share insurance,” NCUA Board Chairman Debbie Matz said. “NCUA encourages credit unions to share with their members this useful tool and other consumer information resources available on our consumer website MyCreditUnion.gov.”

Credit unions are encouraged to contact the Division of Consumer Access in NCUA’s Office of Consumer Protection for more information regarding the new tool.
