MasterCard said last week that it will launch a pilot of its parking offers program in Rockville Center, N.Y. on Monday using parking services provider Parkeon’s network of parking terminals.
The credit card company has partnered with Parkeon, a parking services provider, to integrate its couponing platform with existing Parkeon smart parking terminals.
The system, which is the first of its kind, does not require sign-up processes or smartphone app installation. A full-scale launch is expected at the beginning of next year in the U.S. and across Europe.
“The way we shop is changing and today’s shopper wants to feel that they are getting the best and most personalized experience possible,” Hany Fam, the president of global strategic alliances at MasterCard, said. “By combining MasterCard’s global network, data and technology assets together with Parkeon’s global distribution infrastructure, we can start the retail experience from the moment we get out of our cars. At MasterCard, we have the opportunity to reinvent and rewire the way people interact with retailers by providing solutions and experiences that work for both the retailer and the shopper. Through our partnership with Parkeon, we continue to put the customer journey first by creating products and experiences that are tailored and relevant to local shoppers.”
