MasterCard recently launched a program to help accelerate European startup companies through support, mentorship and networking opportunities.
“Start Path is another great way that MasterCard is showing continued commitment to innovation,” Stephane Wyper, the global lead of Start Path at MasterCard, said. “The future of commerce will be shaped both by traditional players and by startups that are already experimenting with the next generation of solutions. We are giving these startups direct access to our extensive knowledge and experience, to help them uncover new ideas, and ultimately create better experiences for consumers, merchants and other partners.”
MasterCard partners ASOS and Capital One are expected to participate directly in the venture for early-stage startups.
New companies can apply for the opportunity to participate in the upcoming program until May 16 through the Start Path Accelerator online platform. Up to eight companies from across Europe will be selected to participate in the year-long onsite and virtual program expected to launch in late July.
