MasterCard announced on Tuesday it named Robert Keenan as the new lead for debit in the Asia/Pacific region, and Jason Tymms as the new prepaid lead for the Asia/Pacific, Middle East and Africa region.
Keenan has worked at MasterCard since 2005, before which time he worked for U.K.-based Switch Card Services. He contributed to the release of Maestro PayPass and commerce solution, in addition to World and World Elite for Europe.
He took his position as new region lead on Thursday, assuming responsibility for the development and growth of debit products and innovations in the Asia/Pacific region. Previously, he served as head of the U.K., Ireland and Eastern European debit markets, overseeing product strategy and innovation.
Tymms, who has served as the business leader of Australia’s prepaid product management since 2011, will relocate to Singapore and assume his new role as prepaid lead. He participated in the team that introduced Australia Post, Qantas and National Australia travel card programs, as well as the Air New Zealand program. Before joining MasterCard in 2011, he worked with ANZ in Melbourne, Australia, as the prepaid product manager.
“We’re pleased to welcome Rob and Jason in their new roles within the Debit and Prepaid teams as we continue to develop unique and innovative payment products and solutions,” Porush Singh, the senior vice president of the APMEA region’s core products of global products and solutions, said. “Their wealth of experience in the areas of debit and prepaid will be instrumental as we look to cater to a growing consumer demand for convenient and secure payment options in the region.”
