MasterCard announced on Monday the appointment of Marcus Mak as the head of merchant marketing for its Asia/Pacific, Middle East and Africa regions.
Mak will be responsible for bringing value-driven propositions to merchants, developing business strategy for key merchants and building regional merchant marketing strategies for card acceptance and use.

Seshadri, the group executive for global products and solutions for APMEA at MasterCard, said. “As we continue to build strategic merchant relationships, Marcus’ wealth of experience in the payments industry will help us develop new and exciting merchant marketing propositions across APMEA.”
Mak, who holds a master’s degree from California State University and a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University, has also held a number of leadership roles in payments-related firms. He has 18 years of experience across Asia/Pacific, Central European, Middle Eastern and African Markets.
