Goodsmiths shop owners able to accept mobile payments via Swipe app

goodsmiths logoGoodsmiths announced last week the offering of Swipe, its first app that allows Goodsmiths shop owners to manage their homemade inventory and accept credit card payments on Apple devices.

“As the show season kicks off across the country, we are really excited to launch our Swipe by Goodsmiths iPhone application,” James Eliason, the CEO and co-founder of Goodsmiths, said. “This app allows handmade artisans who sell at shows all across the United States to accept payments on the go and to keep their online shop in sync with their life.”

Eliason said the app allows on-the-go shop owners to leverage mobile technology to manage their inventory and increase efficiency.

“We recognized a market opportunity at the Renegade Craft Fair in Chicago last September,” Eliason said. “Artisans love keeping their lives simple while they are selling their wares. We are excited to be a part of that with Swipe.”

Goodsmiths shop owners can sync their homemade inventory via their mobile devices, select an item for purchase and complete a mobile credit card through PayAnywhere. Users can complete up to $1,000 in transactions for free in the first 30 days, after which time a 2.69 transaction fee will be charged for the PayAnywhere mobile swipe device.

Though the app is currently only available on iOS devices, the company plans to eventually release an Android version.
