Fifth Third Bancorp and NextJob, a national reemployment solutions firm, recently established Job Seeker’s Toolkit—a program aimed at helping Fifth Third customers find jobs at no cost to the customer.
The toolkit is NextJob’s exlucsive and proprietary online job search platform. The system is web-based and features multi-media to facilitate interactive learning through nine job search modules. The bank will offer the kit at no charge to internet banking customers.
“Our relationship with NextJob continues to provide unique benefits for our customers,” Steven Alonso, the executive vice president and head of the Fifth Third’s consumer Bank, said. “Our homeowner reemployment initiative is an outreach effort to distressed mortgage borrowers to help them find their next career and avoid foreclosure. Now, this phase II effort enables us to offer a key component of that homeowner reemployment program—the online job search assistance—to a much broader audience, and therefore, help more people gain financial security.”
The toolkit provides information on building a compelling resume and cover letter, job board leads, networking, interview training and preparation, career assessments, follow-up job support and using social media to find a job.
“Fifth Third Bank has taken another step forward to help its customers,” NextJob CEO John Courtney said. “They were innovative with the offering of the homeowner reemployment program by reaching out to their mortgage customers who had lost jobs or suffered an income reduction. Now they are giving more of their customers an opportunity to gain employment or find more meaningful careers by offering, at no cost, comprehensive, top quality online job search assistance. We are thrilled to have this relationship with a financial institution that is always curious about what more it can do to improve the lives of their customers and communities.”
