Discover’s PULSE to accept JCB transactions beginning in August

Discover_FinancialDiscover Financial Services announced that U.S. ATM operators will be able to route Japan Credit Bureau transactions through its PULSE Network beginning in August, an agreement that is expected to increase JCB and Discover’s network volume.

“As part of our global network-to-network strategy, Discover and PULSE are committed to continuing to deliver value to JCB and other partners,” Diane Offereins, the president of payment services for Discover, said. “This expansion strengthens our already successful relationship by offering JCB cardmembers the ability to access cash at PULSE U.S. ATMs.”

The agreement builds upon the existing relationship between Discover and JCB that began in 2006, which enabled JCB card acceptance at the point of sale on the Discover Network in the U.S. and Discover card acceptance on JCB’s network in Japan.

Discover currently has more than 415,000 ATMs in the U.S. and more than one million ATM locations worldwide.
