On Wednesday, Discover announced the launch of “Discover it,” its annual fee-free credit card that provides card members with a number of innovative features and benefits that have become the company’s signature.
The new card features a number of qualities requested by consumers and builds upon Discover’s reward and customer service programs. Discover has ranked number one in credit card customer loyalty for the past 16 years.
“We believe that consumers want something different from a credit card company—something that addresses their specific needs, treats them fairly and gives them what they deserve,” Discover COO and President Roger Hochschild said. “This card is a natural extension of Discover’s ‘It Pays to Discover’ brand positioning and truly shows how Discover is looking to build a long-term relationship with its customers.”
The card, which is a metallic blue resembling brushed steel, allows customers to choose their own payment due dates, provides card members with five percent cash back bonuses in rotating categories throughout the year, provides a $0 liability fraud guarantee absolving customers from payment responsibility for any unauthorized charges and provides customers with round-the-clock U.S.-based customer service.
Additionally, the card carries no overlimit fee, no transaction fees and late payments will not cause an increase in the APR. Customers will be able to pay for Amazon.com purchases using rewards that accrue on the card and lower their rate or payment if met with financial hardship.
