CUNA to hold roundtable on future of payments system

CunaThe Credit Union National Association and CUNA Technology Council announced on Thursday that they will hold a roundtable on the payments system for credit unions in May.

The roundtable will take place on May 5-6 in Las Vegas, in conjunction with the CUNA Technology Council conference.

“The payments industry is clearly up-in-the-air,” James Carrick, the assistant vice president of CPD learning events at CUNA, said. “Credit unions will benefit most from understanding the latest trends, interacting with peers and setting a payments strategy, rather than waiting and reacting to others in the financial industry. This roundtable will equip attendees with the tools to act.”

Speakers and presentations at the roundtable will cover the current state of the payments industry; potential industry innovations; the changing mobile wallet landscape; data analytics and their use in the CU industry; value-based approaches; the growing digital currency bitcoin; and directing a payments strategy.
