Core Innovation Capital announced on Wednesday the four finalists of the fourth annual Core Innovators Challenge that will compete in a live demo format for a $10,000 prize.
“Core is committed to finding and funding the innovators building successful, scalable solutions that meet the financial needs of the Emerging Middle Class,” Core Founder and Managing Partner Arjan Schütte said. “The Innovators Challenge is a unique way to actively uncover the most compelling of these new ideas and then introduce them to the leaders of the financial services community. We are excited about the quality of this year’s class and look forward to the competition.”
The four finalists include Blossom, a technology firm that allows consumers to cash out of digital currencies; Dealstruck, a P2P lending platform that offers asset-based loans and lines of credit to small- and mid-sized businesses; Entrepreneurial Finance Lab, which applies psychometrics to the process of credit scoring; and Moneyworks, a product that manages money automatically on behalf of the consumer.
The Core finalists will compete to be named the most promising technology serving the emerging middle class at EMERGE: The Forum on Consumer Financial Services Innovation, which will be hosted by the Center for Financial Services Innovation (CFSI) and SourceMedia from June 4-6 in Los Angeles.
