Commerce Bank announced on Wednesday its plan to offer the Visa Signature Rewards credit card to alumni, family and friends of Texas-based Southern Methodist University, allowing cardholders to redeem points for cash, gift cards, travel and merchandise.
“SMU fans and alumni will have the exciting opportunity to show their school spirit and loyalty while enjoying the benefits that come with a Visa Signature branded card,” Carl Bradbury, the director of consumer card products at Commerce Bank, said. “The SMU credit card is an example of Commerce Bank’s commitment to developing innovative and valuable products for our organizations and we look forward to future affinity opportunities.”
The card, which carries no annual fee, offers high reward point values and unlimited earnings. The SMU Visa Signature card will be accepted anywhere Visa cards are accepted.
SMU’s current enrollment totals more than 11,000 students, with an alumni network of more than 100,000 graduates.
“Using this card whenever they shop, dine or travel is a great way for SMU alumni, parents and friends to show their Mustang pride as well as to earn some great rewards!” SMU Alumni Board Chairman Leslie L. Melson said.
