“Citibank’s partnership with American Express will allow us to be even more competitive in our credit card offerings across Asia and, of course, to offer even greater rewards and associated benefits to our cardmembers,” Jonathan Larsen, the global head of retail banking and Asia Pacific head of consumer banking for Citi, said.
The card will offer an increased earning rate of one PremierMile for every RM2 card spent on everyday purchases, providing flexibility to redeem the miles for travel at more than 90 airlines around the world. Cardmembers can earn a return ticket to a global destination of their choice based on their annual spending.
Additionally, cardholders will receive complimentary limousine service from Kuala Lumpur International Airport upon their return and unlimited access to certain Plaza Premium Lounges across Malaysia, Singapore, China and Hong Kong. Cardmembers will also receive a complimentary night stay after paying for two nights at select Shangri-La accommodations, as well as privilege dining at more than 50 restaurants in Malaysia.
“Moving forward, we will continue to work closely with Citi to create targeted products that will offer exclusive privileges and benefits on the American Express network,” Siew Choo Ng, the senior vice president of American Express’ Global Network Partnerships Asia, said.
