The CFPB recently began accepting applications for the next round of Technology & Innovation Fellows, a two-year program for software developers, graphic designers, cybersecurity professionals and data specialists interested in improving financial services and products for consumers.
According to a CFPB blog post on Monday, the CFPB is seeking individuals “with diverse backgrounds who embrace our mission and are excited about building technology and helping to build our organization.”
The next group of fellows is expected to begin work in January. Fellows will spend the first few weeks with the CFPB’s technology and innovation team at the Washington, D.C., headquarters.
Fellows will be permitted, after orientation, to work anywhere in the U.S., including the CFPB’s headquarters. The program involves daily interactions between fellows and agency and team staff, as well as periodic visits by fellows to headquarters to collaborate with the team.
Applications will be accepted until July 14 for the following positions: user experience designer, graphic designer, front-end developer, software developer, cybersecurity engineer/administrator, cybersecurity threat analysis engineer, cybersecurity web application developer, data analyst, data architect and data scientist.
The CFPB publishes many of the web applications and developments created by fellows for public consideration. Previous developments include an online tool to track public mortgage data, the Ask the CFPB interactive tool, an eRegulations tool to present regulations in an easy-to-understand way and redesigned consumer forms.
