Alpha Cards to allow credit card smartphone transactions

Alpha Card Services has announced that its merchants are now able to accept credit card transactions through existing iPhone, Blackberry or Android smartphones.

A mobile placement reader and a downloadable smartphone application called QwickPAY are both required to activate the new feature.

According to Alpha Card Services, QwickPAY surpasses current PCI DSS standards by combining multi-layered MagneSafe security, as well as encrypting card data from the point-of-swipe. This technology enables merchants to use their existing mobile devices to make card present transactions without the concerns of storing sensitive card data.

QwickPAY also captures the signature on the mobile device screen and emails the receipt directly to the customer, which allows merchants to avoid using a receipt printer and reduce paper and printer ink costs. The feature will also capture consumer emails for promotions and coupon offers.

"QwickPAY is a great solution for the busy merchant that needs to process numerous mobile transactions," Robert Heinrich, vice president of sales at Alpha Card Services, said. "We have found perfect applications for QwickPAY in restaurant and bar settings, as well as retail environments where longer checkout queues are commonplace. Merchants will be pleased that their payment transactions are handled quickly and safely."

Alpha Card Services is a registered ISO/MSP of HSBC Bank, National Association Buffalo N.Y. The company’s product portfolio includes credit and debit card processing, gift and loyalty cards, POS systems, merchant cash advances, ATM services and check guarantee services.
