Diamond retailer Zale announced on Wednesday that Alliance Data Systems would provide private label credit cards to its customers beginning no later than Oct. 1.
“We are very pleased to begin our partnership with Alliance Data,” Matt Appel, Zale’s chief administrative officer, said. “We selected Alliance Data for its extensive and highly regarded marketing tools and analytics, retail expertise, technology solutions and customer service. We will receive near-term benefits from these capabilities as well as significant economic benefits from this relationship over the life of the contract.”
Under the agreement, Alliance will provide the credit card program through Comenity Capital Bank, its subsidiary. Zale’s current private label credit card agreement is set to expire on Sept. 30. CCB will have the opportunity to participate in special financing programs for Zale’s customers in the U.S. before Oct. 1.
After the completion of the program’s implementation during the first half of next year, Alliance will provide Zale’s brands with marketing and database tools and analytics aimed at brand building and increasing sales. Alliance will also provide table and mobile marketing solutions designed to optimize cardholder acquisition and retention.
