Wells Fargo and American Express launched two new credit cards on Tuesday that offer cardholders additional protections, access to entertainment and discounts and offers.
The new cards, which are issued by Wells Fargo, will be available for Wells Fargo customers and will be accepted on the American Express network.
“Last year, we announced our partnership with American Express as part of our goal to earn more of our customers’ credit card business and help them succeed financially through distinctive and compelling offerings,” Avid Modjtabai, the head of Wells Fargo’s consumer lending group, said. “The culmination of this partnership is Propel 365 and Propel World – two new credit cards that offer upgraded travel experiences, accelerated rewards on travel and every day purchases and powerful bonuses for Wells Fargo relationships. We are excited to partner with American Express, a company that shares our history and commitment to delight customers in every interaction.”
The Propel 365 card offers triple rewards points on gas purchases and double points for dining out. A Wells Fargo relationship bonus—ranging from 10 to 50 percent—will be available for cardholders who open or maintain a qualifying checking or savings account or PMA package with Wells Fargo.
Similarly, the Propel World Card, which is equipped with chip technology and is designed for customers who travel frequently, offers triple points on airline tickets and double points for hotel bookings. Cardholders can earn 10, 25 or 50 percent on rewards points by opening or maintaining a qualifying checking or savings account with the bank.
“We have worked closely with Wells Fargo to deliver an excellent suite of benefits and services to their new Propel cardholders,” William Stredwick, the senior vice president of global network partnerships in North America at American Express, said. “The new Propel products offer everything from early ticket sales to some of the most popular concerts coming out today, as well as discounts from leading brands and extraordinary travel offers and packages, allowing Propel cardholders to enjoy the numerous advantages associated with the American Express brand together with the outstanding rewards and services offered by Wells Fargo.”
