U.S. Bank to offer AmEx-branded cards in fall 2014

U.S. BankU.S. Bank recently entered an agreement with American Express to offer credit cards accepted on the AmEx network by fall of next year.

“We actively listen to our customers and are focused on delivering the right financial solutions that best meet their needs,” U.S. Bank Vice Chairman Pam Joseph said. “We believe that the American Express network provides a combination of benefits and services that many of our customers want. We’re proud to partner with American Express, a company with a rich history of service that’s dedicated to providing outstanding customer value.”

The new American Express-branded cards will be available online, by phone and at U.S. Bank branches.

“U.S. Bank and American Express share a strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer value,” AmEx President Ed Gilligan said. “With this new partnership, we have a terrific opportunity to bring American Express’ unique benefits and services to U.S. Bank and create a compelling new range of products for their customers.”

U.S. Bank is among the top card issuers in the U.S., and its rewards card programs have received national recognition. The bank also has relationships with a number of other brands, for which it issues co-branded cards, and provides white label card-issuing services to banks and credit unions through its Elan subsidiary.
