TSYS announced on Thursday plans to release Authorization Controls, a new product that will allow cardholders to control card transactions from any user interface.
The new product, which aims to empower consumers to manage account preferences, can be integrated with existing mobile and online customer service tools. A recent TSYS study showed that more than 50 percent of consumers said they would be “interested” in using their phones to allow or block card transactions.
With the introduction of the new product, cardholders will be able to control the use of a card account from any device or location, enable recurring payments, receive alerts for each transaction attempted when an account is “disabled” and to set future account authorizations to “on” or “off.”
“TSYS Authorization Controls is part of our broader strategy to empower consumers by putting them in control of their accounts and allowing them to set their own account preferences on demand from almost anywhere through any device,” Paul Bridgewater, the group executive of global product at TSYS, said. “This solution demonstrates TSYS’ commitment to people-centered payments, and we are now available to engage with clients on this product and its future phases. We are also planning additional enhancements like geo-location, time window, transaction type and other consumer controls.”
Headquartered in Georgia, TSYS provides services to over half of the top 20 global banks and support to financial institutions, businesses and governments in more than 80 countries.
