MasterCard announced on Thursday plans to acquire Pinpoint, a loyalty and rewards service provider in the Asia Pacific region, before the end of the second quarter.
“Becoming a part of the MasterCard family is an exciting step for our entire team as we look to build on our core business and grow our customer relationships across the region,” Pinpoint Founder Kim Harding said. “Our 30 years of expertise in loyalty and rewards services, combined with MasterCard’s existing programs and vast network will position us strongly to deliver a whole new level of innovative services to our customers.”
Founded in 1984, Pinpoint is headquartered in Sydney, Australia, with a presence in China, Hong Kong, India, Taiwan and Japan. The acquisition means issuers will be able to offer rewards programs to current customers, as well as target new customers.
