GE Capital, JCPenney extend credit card program agreement

GE CapitalGE Capital Retail Bank announced on Tuesday an extension of its private label and dual credit card program with JCPenney launched in 1999.

The program is managed by GE Capital’s retail finance division and can be used to make purchases at JCPenney stores online and across the U.S. and Puerto Rico.

“We are pleased to extend our successful 14-year relationship through February 2020 and expand the dual card program in the process,” GE Capital Retail Finance President and CEO Margaret Keane said. “The card program provides convenience and value for millions of JCPenney customers and we look forward to continuing to work with the entire JCPenney team to drive loyalty and satisfaction and play an important role in helping to grow their business.”

The JCPenney consumer credit card program, which features the JCPenney logo, provides a number of benefits, including 20 percent off the first day of purchases for new cardholders, access to exclusive events and promotions, up to $10 jcp rewards certificates each month, fraud protection with zero fraud liability for unauthorized use and online access to account information.

Founded in 1902, J.C. Penney Co. is one of the nation’s largest apparel and home furnishing retailers. It has nearly 1,100 stores across the U.S. and Puerto Rico.
